Cinemagraphs by Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg
By now, as tumblr users, we are fully aware of Cinemagraphs. It was interesting for me to watch this new form of GIF’s emerge from tumblr and it was one of the first great things I discovered when I joined just over a year ago. I passionately hate GIFs, and these simplistic subtle animations gave me hope for what I considered to be the scourge of tumblr. To show my appreciation I thought I’d pick a few of my favourites that were made by the original creators of the cinemagraph, Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg.
Thank you, myedol, for making this and informing Tumblr about this wonderful new breed of GIFs.
This is actually the original reason why I joined Tumblr :). I’m a little sad that Jamie and Kevin don’t put up as many cinemagraphs as before though D;
The Night The Sky Crashed
On a foggy night in Odessa, Ukraine, an electronic billboard ERROR’d, resulting in what appeared to be a floating malfunction window in the sky. Later that night, God rebooted his XP machine and the billboard returned to normal.

When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I’m going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!(v)

Street Art of the Day: It took 16 long days and over 500 cans of spray paint, but the Montreal-based artist-run collective A’Shop finally completed its massive Art Nouveau-inspired mural of “a modern-day Our Lady of Grace.”
“Our city has way too much gray,” said Fluke, one of the five artists who worked on this project. “So I hope this [mural] kickstarts a mural campaign.”
